Q: How old must you be to umpire for RHLL?
AA, AAA: Little League Age 12 and older
Majors: 13 years and older
Q. Do umpires get paid?
Yes. Plate and Field Umpires are paid $40 per game. Umpires are paid at the end of the season.
Q. Is training provided to new umpires? Do I have to attend?
Yes and Yes. A Rules Clinic and a Beginning Mechanics Clinic are required prior to qualifying as an umpire. We offer this training prior to the start of every season. Umpires under 18 years old must attend a training once per year unless given a waiver from the chief umpire.
Q. How do I know when Umpire training is?
Once we have set training dates, we will email registered umpires and list the dates on our website
Q. How do I register for the umpire system, Stack officials?
Once you have register on the left and attend a umpire training, you will receive an invite to register for our umpire system, Stack Officials.
Q. How many games do I have to umpire?
You chose how many from a published schedule on our umpire website Stack Officials.
Q. Does RHLL supply my uniform and protective gear?
We supply the Shirt, Hat and (shared) protective equipment which is located inside a field box at each field. You supply the rest. Well established RHLL umpires may receive their own equipment from the league.
Q. What Should I Do If It's Been Raining And The Games May Be Cancelled?
If it's been raining and the fields are wet, there's a good chance the games will be canceled. Umpires will receive an automated e-mail if their game has been canceled.
Q. What Do I Do If I Have A Last Minute Emergency and Can't Show Up?
If there is less than 2 day's notice, you MUST call the Chief Umpire to discuss arrangements.
